The former Spice girl Melanie Chisholm has spoken out and quelled any rumours of a reunion.

Mel says that it is highly unlikely that the girl band, which disbanded after their meteoric rise to fame, will ever get back together, reports Ananova.

Mel, who now runs her own label record called Red Girl Label said, "I'm sure some people are quite keen for that to happen but I am not one of them."

She has fared the best of all the Spice Girls who went on to have solo careers. There were rumours swirling recently that the Spice Girls were going to come out with an album where they would sing their parts separately.

There also seemed to be friction when Mel B refused to join the group for a temporary reunion to perform at the Live 8 concert.
