Eddie Murphy, the star of hits like "The Nutty Professor" and "Shrek", and his wife Nicole have finally decided to split.

According to Pagesix.com, Murphy in an interview with the show "Entertainment Tonight" said: "Welfare of our children is our main concern and their best interest is our first priority."

The couple had gone through many difficulties and managed to stick together including the time Murphy was caught in a compromising position in his car with drag queen Shalimar Seiuli in 1997.
