The producers of a 1979 movie called "Parts: The Clonus Horror" have filed a suit against DreamWorks and Warner Bros claiming the film's plot was taken for their recent release "The Island".

According to Internet Movie Database, there are a lot of other prominent movie reviewers who agree on similarities between the films. "The Clonus.." is a film about a colony of clones kept on an island as spare parts for ailing rich people.

People suing the studios allege that they showed the movie "Parts: The Clonus Horror" to DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg who was then at Paramount pictures.

One of the producers of "Parts.." who saw the trailer for "The Island" said, "I thought, 'That looks like a trailer to my movie', right down to where key moments and shots were the same."

A statement from DreamWorks insists, "The Island was independently created and does not infringe anyone's copyright."
