Pop star Justin Bieber kicked off the music portion of the SXSW festival, before the real event began.

The 20-year-old singer surprised his fans by performing at Banger's Sausage House and Beer Garden, Austin March 9, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Bieber performed on two songs, including `Boyfriend`, which he dedicated to ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, who was backstage, said an audience member named Ashley Gregg.

`This goes out to my baby girl,` said Bieber, to the crowd of about 100 people.

The bar hosted the event for Bieber's manager Scooter Braun. Surprise performers included Bieber, Cody Simpson, Dan + Shay, Tori Kelly, and Rixton, who are among Braun's clients.
