Actress Karen Gillan has praised her "Oculus" co-star Katee Sackhoff.

Sackhoff, popular for acting in sci-fi TV show "Battlestar Galactica", plays Gillan's mother in the forthcoming horror film "Oculus".

Gillan looked upto Sackhoff as a role model, said a statement.

"I am inspired by Katee. She is a sci-fi actress who's gone on to do amazing things," she said in an interview.

About her career and her dream role, she said: "I would love to strike a nice balance between comedy and dramatic acting. And my dream role is to play Lady MacBeth."
