Jim Carrey Saturday gave a funny and heartfelt speech while receiving a Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa.
Whilst addressing the crowd, the Golden Globe Award winner said that he wanted to thank the trustees, the administrators and the faculty of MUM for creating an institution worthy of Maharishi's ideals of education, as well as enabling the students through transcendental education and vedic knowledge to slack off twice a day for an hour and a half, Us Magazine reported.
The 'Mask' star continued that the decisions one made in this moment were based in either love or fear, and so many of them chose their path out of fear disguised as practicality.
The 52-year-old actor continued saying that what one really wanted, seemed impossibly out of reach and absurd to expect, so one never asked the universe for it. He added that he's the proof that one can ask the universe for it and if it doesn't happen, it's only because the universe is so busy fulfilling his own order.
