Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has been offered a role on the crime show "Criminal Minds".

Hewitt will play Kate Callaghan, a veteran undercover investigator, who transfers to the Behavior Analysis Unit from her position in the FBI. Her character will be introduced in the show's tenth season premiere this autumn, reports contactmusic.com.

The announcement comes nine months after the end of Hewitt's last TV show "The Client List". The show was cancelled after two seasons. It earned the actress a Golden Globe nomination.
