Oscar award winning actress and UN Good Will Ambassador Angelina Jolie Friday met Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi and expressed her sympathies over the death and destruction caused by the massive Oct 8 earthquake, reports Online news agency.
Jolie assured Musharraf of her support for the rehabilitation of quake-affected people by using the UN
platform during her meeting with him at the Army House here.
UN Representative in Pakistan for Refugees Antonio Guterres and Hollywood actor Brad Pitt were
also present during the meeting.
Jolie stressed on the need of special care for women and children victims of the quake.
Musharraf briefed Jolie on the government's rehabilitation efforts and said special shelters had been
set up to cater to quake-affected women and children.
He said that affected women would be given soft loans so that they could stand on their own feet.
