Actress Nicole Kidman says 2014 has been a tough year for her professionally and personally after the death of her father.
The 47-year-old, who was here Sunday for the Australian premiere of "Paddington", admitted that 2014 has not been her "favourite year", both as an actress as well as personally following the death of her father Anthony Kidman from a heart attack in August, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
"Personally (it's been) really really really hard,` she said.
`My family underwent a massive tragedy. So not my favorite year. But I try not to be ungrateful - I'm grateful to be alive.`
Kidman said she would be spending more time in Sydney with her mother and sister after losing her father.
`We've gone through a really tough time this year as a family. It's so nice to be able to take care of each other,` she added.
On the big screen, Kidman's year has been mixed with `Grace of Monaco` widely panned, `The Railway Man` receiving muted praise and `Before I Go To Sleep` also dividing critics and stalling at the box office.
