"My trip to Budapest was very fruitful. I went there for a week. It was good to meet the entire cast of the film. Tom and I along with the director and other cast members did some script reading and I also got to almost finalise the look and feel of my character," Irrfan said in a statement.
Meeting the "Forrest Gump" actor Tom was an experience in itself for Irrfan, who has earlier starred in international projects like "Slumdog Millionaire", "Life of Pi" and "The Amazing Spider-Man".
"I personally feel Tom is a wonderful actor and amazing person. I met him for a brief time but I shall look forward to work with him once the shooting starts in couple of weeks," he added.
"Inferno" will be directed by Ron Howard.
