Says Mohit, "After watching Aashiqui 2, Vidya expressed her desire to work with me and Bhatt saab. The film went on to do very well and Bhatt saab asked me if he could write for me. I was speechless. Here was an iconic director asking me whether he could write for me and I immediately said yes. For one year he worked on the script and what shaped up moved me to tears. It's a simple, romantic story and yet so complicated. After hearing this story, I could not find myself doing any fluff. I wanted to make this meaningful, soul-stirring romance."
Mohit further adds, "I was also given the choice of directingDil Hai Ke Maanta Nahinby Bhattsaab. However, I chose to direct this one because I felt there was lot of depth in the script which was narrated to me by Bhattsaab. It's something that he had witnessed in his childhood and hence the source was truthful and the emotions honest." Commenting on the title, Mohit says, "The title of the film is a give-away, it's apt and it almost prepares audiences for a heart-wrenching tale of unrequited love that is timeless."
Hamari Adhuri Kahani, produced by Vishesh Films and presented by Fox Star Studios, releases June 12.
