Mary Kom director Omung Kumar's next is based on the life story of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national convicted of terrorism and spying by a Pakistani court.

The film, co-produced by Zeishan Quadri, will go on floors soon. The story of Sarabjit Singh's death created a national ruckus and Dalbir's struggle to free her brother captured the nation's attention.

A source says, "Sarabjit Singh's biopic was earlier supposed to be directed by Hansal Mehta."

Omung says, "I will be directing and co-producing Sarabjit. Even Though I have three scripts lined up, this will be my next film after Mary Kom."
