The psychological and edge-of-the-seat thriller ME is about Sarah Kapoor, a psychologist attempting to cure her husband, Aryan, an actor, who suffers from an acute case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Produced by Dr Santosh Sawane, the movie features Adil Aman, Gurpreet Kaur and Sammeer Satiish, who is also the director.
For authenticity, crew members say, that immense amount of research was done on OCD by observing many patients suffering from the disorder in real life across many countries. According to the director, who has also written the screenplay along with the late Preeti Gangoly ME is neither a medical nor a horror film, 'where you see ugly faces'. He says, "It is an entertainer with in-depth research on psychology, psychiatric medicine and paranormal psychology. We've used longer duration shots so as to involve the audience and not make it look jerky. Hence, the actors had to go through a lot of training and rehearsals. Overall treatment of the film is subtle. Background score is designed keeping the genre in mind; it is not loud."
ME, presented by The Illusionists Film Company, releases May 29.
