The jodis on Zee's Ek Main Aur Ek Tu are not uniformly likeable. But Rajiv Kumar from the Chamba
valley who got eliminated from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge when there were eight contestants left is
back with a bang, this time in the duet format with another Sa Re Ga Ma Pa singer Sanchali.
According to Sa Re Ga Ma /Ek Main Aur Ek Tu producer Gajendra Singh, "Rajiv's sudden fall and then
rise has been phenomenal. It just goes to prove that audience polls cannot be relied on. Because Rajiv
got eliminated from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa when there were eight contestants left. Now on Ek Main Aur Ek Tu
he's immensely popular."
But will Ek Main Aur Ek Tu generate the kind of interest that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge did? " Why
not? Just because the contestants in Ek Main Aur Ek Tu were eliminated from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
Challenge it doesn't necessary follow that the contestants would be inferior.
Ameya Date who
went all the way to the final 4 on Sony's Indian Idol was a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant several times
over. And Rajiv's popularity among audiences proves there's always a second chance on television
music contests."
