Debojit ....the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge winner....Debojit...The actor???!!! Not quite. But yes, Debojit makes his 'acting' debut on the soap Kasamh Se today (Tuesday).

"It isn't really acting," explains the soft-spoken Debojit. "Basically I'm playing myself. I'm the Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge winner Debojit and I'll be appearing for a party sequence where I'll sing that Dil Chahta Hai ballad Tanhayee. In fact we just shot the sequence," explains Debojit from the soap's sets.

"It was fun, specially since all the cast and crew are so helpful. Everyone is nice abd cool. I had recorded the track a night earlier. And lip-synced it for the shooting. Everyone including the soap's leading man Ram Kumar liked it so much they all want a copy of my song on CD."

So will Debojit be seen more often on fiction programmes? "I don't think so," laughs the singer shyly.

"I'm doing this only because I get to be and do what I like to. Basically I'm still ignorant about what I should and shouldn't do. Thank God for my wife who understands the ways of the world much better than me. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be anywhere in life."
