The quirky family comedy about marriages, divorces and everything in the middle, sees him pair up with Govinda's daughter, Tina Ahuja. Directed by Smeep Kang, the film also features the evergreen superstar Dharmendra, Rati Agnihotri, Ravi Kishan, Geeta Basra, Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz. Initially anxious about how he would be received in B-town, Gippy is now feeling welcome in Bollywood.
Aamir Khan wrote on his micro-blogging page, "Wishing you all the very best Gippy and Tina for your debut in Hindi cinema! Luck and love!" And, comic show host and actor, Kapil Sharma took time out and came to support the actor for the trailer launch.
Feeling blessed to have this goodwill and support as he is set to take the big Bollywood plunge, Gippy says, "I have always been grateful for all the fans I have in Punjab and across the world. Their love really keeps me going. Now the appreciation and support I am getting from the Mumbai film industry and the new audiences I am reaching out to, is overwhelming." Second Hand Husband, produced by Gakhal Brothers Entertainment, releases July 3.
