We've seen him squabble with Ila Arun on Sony's Fame Gurukul. Now Javed Akhtar will appear on the pen-ultimate episode of Indian Idol , to be telecast tomorrow evening.

Javed who sincerely believes in promoting new talent was invited to Indian Idol at this critical juncture in the contest for his insider's knowledge of the music world.

"We wanted someone who's entertaining informative and well-informed," says a Sony source. "Javed Saab proved to be all of that."
