Bollywood's Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, will play the coach of a girls' field hockey team in a
new Hindi film to be produced later this year.
The film is inspired by the 2002 crossover hit ''Bend It Like Beckham,'' in which the daughter of
conservative Sikh parents living in London rebels against tradition by playing on a soccer team.
''Chak De,'' or ''Go For It,'' as the film is tentatively titled, deals with how Khan's character pushes a
mediocre field hockey team to victory.
Director Shimit Amin is busy with preproduction work, while the casting director is looking for fresh
faces for the hockey team. Auditions team members are over and a few names have been shortlisted.
The girls selected for the film will have to undergo intensive two-month field hockey training.
