Nikhil Advani's 'Katti Batti' will be a litmus test of sorts for Imran Khan, who took a break in 2013 following a series of flops. And to ensure that his uneventful career gets on track, his uncle, Aamir Khan seems to have taken control. Sources say Imran and Nikhil decided to show the rushes of the upcoming project to Mr Perfectionist for "expert advice".
A source says, "On Tuesday night, a preview was held for Aamir in Nikhil's office after which they were engaged in a long discussion. The star's filmmaker wife, Kiran Rao, was also present there. Imran always asks for his mamu's advice for each of his projects and since 'Katti Batti' is a critical film for him, he wanted Aamir's feedback."
The film, which is scheduled to hit the theatres in September, stars Kangana Ranaut opposite Imran. A source close to the actor says, "Since it's his comeback film, he doesn't want to take any risk. Aamir is actively getting involved in the post-production job as well as the marketing strategy. He is giving creative inputs on the film's edit and suggesting changes to make the film more interesting."
On June 15, the star had tweeted: "Hey guys, Imran's back! Can't wait to see your film Imran. Good luck! (sic)". He also wished Kangana luck.
Nikhil remained unavailable for comment.
