Bollywood actor Navin Nischol who was arrested last evening by the Mumbai police in connection with his wife Geetanjali's suicide, will be produced in a Mumbai court today.

Navin's brother Pravin, who was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide and cruelty to a woman, will also be produced in the court.

Both were arrested under Sections 498 A, 306 and 109 of the Indian Penal Code, police sources said.

Navin was interrogated by the police for three hours last evening after his arrest in connection with case.

Geetanjali had committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence here on April 22. She had left a note saying that she was disturbed by Navin's heavy drinking and had asked him to stop his habit because it was affecting their finances.

According to sources, Naveen was grilled about his strained relationship with Geetanjali over the past few months. He had allegedly also issued a notice to his wife some time back seeking an amicable divorce.

Earlier, the couple came in limelight when Geetanjali had alleged that Pravin had left her and Navin homeless. They both were living in a posh-house located in the upmarket Khar area. Geetanjali had also claimed that the property was actually owned by her husband.
