A local court on Saturday remanded former Bollywood actor Navin Nischol and his brother in police custody till May 6 for allegedly abetting the suicide of his wife Geetanjali.

Navin and his brother Pravin were arrested late Friday by local police in connection with Geetanjali's suicide. The court sent them in police remand for further investigation in the case, said police sources.

Geetanjali hung herself at her central Mumbai residence April 22. In her suicide statement, she had allegedly blamed Navin and Pravin for forcing her to take the extreme step.
