Fardeen was joined by young AIDS awareness activist Hasina Kharbhih in the show staged at U. Tirot Singh indoor stadium in, Scotland of the East, Shillong.
Fardeen Khan is also to feature in a reality television series Haath Ae Haath Mila (HSHM) being produced by BBC World Service Trust in association with National Aids Control Organisation.
The show will feature the story of Shillong-based activist Mrs Hasina Kharbhih, IIM Calcutta graduate, who has been working for spreading awareness about AIDS in the North East region.
Fardeen in his first visit to northeast said, "It is for Hasina that I am here. She has done great work and she is an example of how we can use our talents to make a difference." Fardeen told the audience, "The power lies within us to create awareness on HIV/AIDS."
Fardeen and Hasina also joined all the bands on stage to sing the title song of Haath Se Haath Mila and delivered a message on HIV to the audience. The title song was belted out by rock band Rhythm Divine. Later, other bands like Democracy, Innocent Eyes and Strait Brothers performed some hits.
Fardeen Khan later answered questions put forward by youngsters. Someone asked him, "If you were in love with an HIV positive girl, what would you do?" Khan hesitated for just a moment before answering: "You know what, if I were desperately in love, I'd marry her anyway." The crowd whistled its approval and more questions followed.
