One of the year's most anticipated movie 'Hero', which marks the Bollywood debut of Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi, is all set to release today (September 11). What has really increased the stakes of the movie is that Salman Khan's banner SKF (Salman Khan Films) has co-produced the movie. Athiya is the daughter of Suniel Shetty and Sooraj is the son of Aditya Pancholi.
'Hero' is the official remake of the 1983 movie of the same name, which marked the debut of Jackie Shroff . The movie was directed by Subhash Ghai, who is now co-producing the remake with Salman. (See Pics:Athiya, Sooraj take off for promotions)
The remake is directed by Nikhil Advani who is often quoted as saying that he has helmed the movie under Salman's guidance. `A huge applause needs to be given toSalmanwho is taking this risk of producing a film which was made 30 years back. And he has the courage to make a better film than the 'Hero' made 30 years back. My blessings to the hero and the team,` Subhash Ghai was once quoted as saying, when asked about the remake.
And rightly so, it does seem a risk. But what might be termed as a well-calculated risk by some is diluted in the risque factor by really smart promotions by Salman and his team. He has been to every event with Sooraj andAthiyamaking sure that the press people do attend the conferences and that too in large numbers.
