The comedy, which marked Kapil Sharma's foray into Bollywood, created a record for becoming the highest grosser for a debutant. The actress, who is pleased with the reaction to her performance, particularly her dance sequences in the movie, says, "I've always loved Bollywood dance. I remember listening to Hindi film songs during my growing up years and falling in love with the dance moves. It's really exciting to have my own song in the film and get recognition for it.I have a background in competitive sports as I was an athlete and figure-skater. So that helped me learn the moves correctly and quickly."
However, it wasn't easy for the actress as an insider associated with theKKPKtells us, "Elli did yoga and pilates to lose eight kilos for the film. She was extremely dedicated to her fitness and diet regime to get the perfect look." The Hindi diction and pronunciation of the actress, who is of Swedish-Greek origin, is right. As her film's crew member tells us, "Elli speaks Hindi without an accent, which makes her performance credible in the film. The fact that she knew the language improved her performance dramatically as it helped her understand what her co-actors said in the scenes and her reactions to their dialogues were more natural."
On her part, the actress attributes it to her learning the language even before she entered Bollywood. "I like languages and have always wanted to work here. So, learning Hindi was the first important thing to start with. I think I've become better over a period of time," sums up Elli, who is currently reading scripts to decide her next lot of films.
