Main Aur Charles, which is inspired by notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj and his Tihar jailbreak, is expected to be an intriguing thriller.

Randeep Hooda plays the protagonist in the film that is produced by Raju Chadha, Amit Kapoor and Vikram Khakhar.Interestingly, some jail scenes were shot at an actual prison. And what's more, real cops were asked to play reel cops, too. Writer-director Prawaal Raman felt that the junior artistes meant to essay the role of policemen didn't fit the bill.

The cops agreed to be the saviours but shot for the film only after their working hours were over. The cast and crew had great fun shooting with the men in khaki and were happy that they did such a good job.

Recalling the shoot, Prawaal says, "Since we were ensuring authenticity in every aspect, we felt that the junior artistes cast initially were unable to do justice to their parts and requested the cops who were present during our shoot to step in. They lent character to their roles. In fact, they would wait back after their shift to shoot for the film."

Main Aur Charles, presented by Wave Cinemas Ponty Chadha and produced by Cynozure Networkz, releases October 30.
