"'Breaking News' is basically about the electronic media and a TV journalist who is not really serious about her job until she gets into the crime beat which drastically changes her life and attitude towards work," Inamdar was quoted as saying.
Asked if it was related to sting operations, he said: "Journalism was introduced in the wake of crimes so that people could benefit from it. Basically everything depends on the way you use things. If the media is put to the right use, it does help society.
"For instance, I don't care what a celebrity, as an individual, does at home, but if it impacts the society it does concern me."
And what made him think of such a subject?
"'Breaking News' is inspired by a story that I'd seen on TV though it's not completely based on it. I believe the media can go to any extent to boost their TRP ratings. Having said that I also feel they've done a good job in the past. Actually, it has its pros and cons," says Inamdar.
"I'm trying to make a good film, giving it all that I can. I am not overconfident or over ambitious, I've left things to god and destiny," he signs off.
The film stars Koel Puri, Abhimanyu Singh, Swati Sen, Harsh Chhaya and Vinay Apte.
