In another historic move, filmmaker Akbar Khan, whose film 'Taj Mahal - An Eternal Love Story' became the
first commercial release in Pakistan since 41 years, threw a special dinner event at the Sun N Sand hotel in
Juhu, Mumbai, for eminent media personalities from Pakistan visiting India.
"Media; be it print, television, radio or internet, plays the most crucial role in forming opinions and
perceptions through readers, viewers, listeners and surfers," Khan said, and added, "The bonding of the
Pakistani media with ours, will further strengthen Indo-Pak friendship".
Kashif Haneef Abbasi (ARY One TV), Tahir Ali (The Post), Shaukat Mahmood Piracha (Aaj TV), Choudhry
Rehmatullah Shamsi (Daily Ausaf), Saleem Khilji (Daily Times), Mobarik Ahmed Virk (The News), Tahir
Khalil (Daily Jang), Ms Huma Amir Shah (Aaj TV) and Raza Ur Rehman (Daily Express) were among the
topline Pakistani media persons present at the occasion.
Distinguished guests at the event included filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, actors Kabir and Pooja Bedi, models
Adam Bedi, Nisha Harale, Praveen Sirohi and Gulshan Raj, actress Poonam Dhillon, distributor Shyam
Shroff, trade editor Vikas Mohan, publicity officer from the Ministry of External Affairs Eshwer P. Teki, writer
and poet Syed Gulrez, media veteran Rauf Ahmed, filmmaker Shainna Nath and actor Prem Chopra.
