The film is directed by Calcutta - based Q, quite the darling of the indie circuit having caused a stir with groundbreaking hits like Tasher Desh and Gandu. The film is produced by Steve Barron who's other comedies include Dan Akroyd's 'Coneheads' and 'Mike Bassett - England Manager'.
The movie's plot is centered on the quizzer's scene in India in the early eighties and is a smart teen comedy in the vein of the British hit 'The In-betweeners' from 2011. Apparently the film has Sid in the key role with 4 new actors being cast as pivotal roles alongside him. Shashank Arora of Titli fame plays the character of Naman. While Sid could not be contacted for a comment on the same, his spokesperson confirmed the development.
The Sundance Film Festival runs from Jan 21-31 and is considered one of the key outlets as part of the festival circuit.
