The ace director who has given Indian cinema, one of the most iconic film 'Rang De Basanti' believes that whatever Aamir said was mispresented and misinterpreted.

He further explained how the majority in the nation are battling with their day to day problems. People who are battling with these issues have been confused by the tolerance, intolerance debate. He supported Aamir by saying, "I know many politicians, army officials, friends; Aamir would rank in the first three amongst the most honest Indians that I know. Listen to what he's trying to say. He's concerned about the country. He is saying something, and then the sort of comments that have come about, I can't even mention the comments that have come."

He further spoke about how we shouldn't try to shut a voice down, as a society. And first look in the mirror and accept out shortcomings. The director in this extensive chat lent all his support Aamir is indeed one of the most honest Indians he knows.
