A petition was filed in a local court Tuesday against the "Great Indian Laughter Challenge" TV show protesting against allegedly adverse remarks made on backward castes in an episode.

The petition was filed by Jitendra Solanki and his voluntary organisation, Aadar Seva Samiti, in the metropolitan court against STAR One channel, producer of the show, Bollywood actor Suneil Shetty, anchors of the show Shekhar Suman and Navjotsingh Sidhu and two Pakistani artists - Ali Hassan and Irfan Mallik.

The organisation approached the court complaining against the comments made in the episode aired on June 16 on the channel.

"We have asked for their arrests and also demanded an apology for their adverse remarks. They telecast the episode seven times," said Solanki.

In New Delhi, some people had approached a court earlier complaining about the same episode.
