The singer flew off from Mumbai on Friday morning and reached Patna in the afternoon via Delhi. "Our discussion lasted from 3 pm to 8 pm. I left Patna airport thereafter."
The meeting on Friday (June 30) was held under heavy security from both sides at the Patna airport. "I was scared," confesses the popular singer. "I had taken my own security from Mumbai. This is what I've been reduced to now. I feel my life and my career are under threat."
He sighs and talks very reluctantly. "It wouldn't be appropriate to reveal the content of our conversation. But yes, we spoke for a long time at the airport restaurant."
The Bihar Women's State Commission has been repeatedly taking up cudgels on behalf of the alleged first-wife. Udit feels hounded and persecuted. " The deadend between this lady and me has now been broken. Hopefully in a few months we'll have the matter sorted out."
If Udit falsifies the lady's claims then why did he fly down to meet her at the airport only to fly right back to Mumbai after the meeting? "It's a family matter. The lady's sister is married to my younger brother. We spoke, we're trying to sort out the matter."
In an emotional outburst Udit blurts out. "I've always led a spotless transparent life. I've been proud of being a selfmade man. I led a charmed life. Suddenly I'm facing this slander. I struggled very hard to get where I am.
Out of the hundreds of crores people I achieved my dreams. I was proud of what I've achieved. But now I'm broken from inside. I tried to manage the crisis that has suddenly cropped up in my life. But I don't think I've succeeded."
Apparently the lady is being given political support for her campaign to prove Udit Narayan to be her estranged husband.
Udit restrains from comment on this issue. "I just want this storm to blow over. I met the lady to know what pained her and what she wanted. We're heading towards a compromise."
