Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant has been asked by a local court to appear before it personally on July 30
in an obscenity case filed against her in connection with her stage show on May 17.
A complaint against Sawant was lodged by police inspector U K Sawant of Shahupuri police station for
allegedly appearing in revealing outfits and making indecent gestures during the show.
The inspector had registered a case against her under various Sections of Bombay Police Act.
The Kolhapur show was organised by highwards group of companies. The organiser Gaurav Thakur had also
been booked along with Sawant, police said. Sawant had earlier claimed that she had worn the costume
provided by the organiser.
