Versatile actor Naseeruddin Shah's directorial debut "Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota", starring Paresh Rawal and Konkona SenSharma among others, got an enthusiastic response from the audience at its world premiere at the Osian Cinefan Festival here.

The audience clapped and whistled in appreciation when Naseer got on to the stage during the interval of the screening at the Siri Fort on Wednesday.

The world premiere of the film was one of the main highlights of the eighth Osian Cinefan Festival of Asian Cinema. Most of the cast and crew of the film were present.

Naseer, his wife Ratna and son Immaauddin who have an important role in the film, attended the premiere along with other cast members Irrfan Khan, Jimmy Shergill and Konkona SenSharma.

Shabir Boxwala, the producer of the film, who had got stuck in a traffic jam in the city, managed to join the team.

Also present was Naseer's elder brother to whom he has dedicated the film. The actor-director watched the movie with his brother and his wife, while Ratna sat with other guests in the next row.

The film, which is mostly shot in Mumbai, is about the fixation of Indians with America, and the scriptwriter has articulately woven the 9/11 tragedy into it.

The film is scheduled for general release across India on Friday.
