Akshaye Khanna has recorded a nazm for his upcoming film "Aap Ki Khatir", apparently reminiscent of the yesteryear romantic hit song "Kabhi kabhi" by Amitabh
Bachchan.
The couplet has been specially composed by Himesh Reshammiya and penned by lyricist Sameer. However, it took a lot of convincing on the producers' part before
Akshaye agreed to do it.
But Akshaye is happy with the final result.
"I really had a blast whilst recording the nazm. Sameer has done an excellent job with the poetry as expected of him. And Himesh has done a mind blowing job for 'Aap Ki
Khatir'," said Akshaye.
Reshammiya is impressed with Akshaye's singing quality.
"Sameer-ji's poetry in the song is phenomenal. It is something different I have attempted. And Akshaye has got this 'quality' in his voice, which is deep and soothing. It is like
there is a romantic soul inside him.
"Instinctively, I felt that we could use his voice, especially when Akshaye speaks about love. It's sure to touch a chord with his female fans and it will be a sure fire hit
amongst the girls", said Reshammiya.
"Himesh always wants to try something different. He is so talented and that is the reason he is where he is. He has got the pulse of the masses," said Ratan Jain, who is
producing the film.
Akshaye, incidentally, loves the music of "Aap Ki Khatir" and feels that it is the best music done in recent times. He especially loves the track "Kehdo" and loves to hum it.
