After the High Court stayed the arrest warrant issued by a Magistrate Court in Madurai against actress Shilpa Shetty in the so-called 'obscenity case', she has written to the chief Justice of India Mr Y.K.Sabharwal, requesting to initiate appropriate orders which could set a guiding precedent in such maligning cases by lawyers against film artistes.
In her letter addressed to the Honourable Chief Justice of India, Shilpa has said that such people in order to gain cheap publicity for themselves, not only cause damage to the reputation of artistes, but end up wasting the courts precious time.
Shilpa has also thanked the National Commission for Women (NCW) and its chairperson Dr Girija Vyas for standing up for her rights and supporting the time of crisis.
