Singer Sonu Nigam's new single 'Yeh rashtra prem ki bhavna' (This feeling of patriotism) can be downloaded on mobile telephones.
Deepak Pandit composed the song.
"I was working on this song much before the unfortunate 7/11 (Mumbai train bombings) happened. This is a patriotic song aimed at connecting to the masses, especially
youth of today," said Nigam.
"The song is very different as it's not an album. It is a 'single' only on the Internet without any company involvement. You can have it as a ring tone or a caller tune. We
mainly want to connect to people through mobiles," he said.
"It's a patriotic song mainly targeting the youngsters who are a lot more cool, open and chilled out. It's got to do with generating awareness about our country. Patriotism is
not about 'right' or 'wrong'. It's about our efforts in making our country the best.
"We want to propagate humanity and freedom through this song," said Nigam, who is all set to fly to the US with Talat Aziz for a concert.
Music channels MTV, Channel [V], Radio city and Zee have come forward to promote the song. Radio Mirchi and the Times group are all for the song.
