Pakistani actress Meera will approach the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) with a plea that she be allowed pre-release access to the forthcoming Indo-US production "Rocking Meera" on the ground that it contains sequences based on incidents in her life.

She is trying her luck with the IMPPA after the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Programme Producers (AMPTPP) of India rejected her plea on the film, which stars Indian actress Nauheed Cyrusi in the lead role, the Pakistan Times newspaper reported.

In a letter addressed to the actress' spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar, the AMPTPP expressed its inability to investigate the complaint, saying "we are not really aware of any true life incident from the life and times of actress Meera".

The association dismissed the matter as "personal and recommended it should be sorted out between the makers of the film and the actress".

"It would be ideal for the actress herself to have a meeting with director Param Gill and producer Lavanya Gill and either get the script narrated, or hold a screening of the film, to have a clear view on the subject matter and thereby give her consent for the same," the letter stated.

"We regret our inability to be of any service to you in this regard, as we are really not aware of any true-life incidents from the life and times of actress Meera," the association said.

Meera, who has two Bollywood films to her credit, says she has meanwhile settled her differences with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

"We are friends again. We will, of course, work again together," said Meera. The differences between the two apparently were sorted out during Bhatt's recent visit to Pakistan.

"Mahesh is a good professional director. He always keeps encouraging people," Meera said.

The actress was also enthusiastic about working in India. "India is a good place to work in show business. There is a lot of scope."

Meera, who acted in Bhatt's "Nazar", now also plans to produce a film in Bollywood.
