The upcoming film, Muzaffarnagar 2013, is based on the communal strife in Uttar Pradesh which is described as the worst violence in recent history.

It had created a huge uproar and pandemonium nationwide. Produced and written by Manoj Mandi and directed by Harish Kumar, the film's cast includes Dev Sharma and Aishwarya Devan.

The film is garnering attention due to its subject. There has also been buzz about a ban being demanded on the film by certain vested groups. Since it is a Bollywood flick, there is a mix of drama, action and music. The film is 70 per cent complete and two songs have been recorded so far with singers Mohit Chauhan and Ritu Pathak.
