Priyanka is the portrait of de-stressed joy. "The surgery has gone well. And hopefully this would be the last time Dad has gone under the knife."
She recalls with a shudder the first time when her dad's illness was suddenly detected and had to be rushed to the US for surgery. "No airline was willing to take him on, and we couldn't get him an air ambulance. We finally got him into a flight. But it wasn't easy. Thank God it's over," she shudders.
Unfortunately Priyanka couldn't be present in Boston for the surgery. "I've been shooting round the clock for Nikhil Advani's Salaam-e-Ishq. Though it was impossible to get away I was still willing to somehow make it to Boston to be there for his surgery.
But Dad put his foot down. He didn't want to stress about my shooting schedules at a time when he was going into surgery. My mom is with Dad. And I'm constantly keeping in touch. It looks like the worst is over, touch-wood."
In all the domestic and professional bustle Priyanka hasn't been able to catch Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna. But she intends to see the film very soon because she plays a huge Karan Johar fan in Salaam-e-Ishq. "It's the funniest and yet saddest role I've ever played."
