They may not have worked together in a film, but have now joined hands for a cause. Kunal Kapoor and Richa Chadha have decided to raise funds to build a shelter home for girls who have escaped prostitution and wish to start afresh.
A source says, `They have associated with an NGO called Purnata which works with minor girls and women rescued from the illegal business.`
While there are plans to build a residency for these girls, the actors have raised Rs 12 lakh to cover the rent for two years. `There are 15 girls who have benefited by the actors' initiative. However, the duo wants to contribute more and keep providing funds to the NGO,` adds the source.
When we contacted Richa for a comment, she sais, `I always wanted to be able to do something, when I was a little famous, for causes that I believed in. These girls have been to hell and back, and if I can do anything at all to make them heal, it's an absolute privilege for me.`
