"Publicists have a lot of celebrity numbers and secret conversations with actors and media on their phones. Losing a mobile phone could be a PR disaster in itself. I am lucky, I was able to swiftly catch the thief and save myself from the embarrassment," says Dale.
However, this 'thief' was actually a little boy. "I wanted to take him to a nearby Police station, but then I thought to myself, it may not make him realize his mistake," says the publicity expert.
After being caught the boy started crying and howling. Dale let him calm down and then asked where he stayed and what would he have done with his phone. "He said he would have sold it at a local mobile shop. So I asked him how much would he have got for it." Dale couldn't believe his ears when the boy said, Rs 150.
"I took him to a nearby restaurant and gave him a treat, which cost me more than Rs 150. He ate veg hakka noodles and I managed to make him talk a little. I made sure he glanced at the bill when it came. We didn't discuss a word about what he'd done. And then I shook his hand, smiled, said bye and left." Whoa! That's what we call great PR. And that's what makes Dale Bollywood's only PR guru.
