"It is time to give back to my native place," Suman said here Tuesday.
Suman has proposed the setting up of a cardiac care hospital in his hometown here in memory of his son Ayush who died of a heart disease.
The TV star confirmed he has put forward a proposal to set up an ultra modern heart hospital for children in Patna. Suman and his doctor father Phani Bhusan Das were granted instant appointment with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Monday night.
After meeting Nitish Kumar, Suman said he had been assured that the state government would convey its decision on his proposal within a week.
According to him, the chief minister said that the state government would provide the land and other infrastructure needed for the hospital.
Suman, who spent his childhood and youth in Patna, said the proposed hospital would be ultra-modern. He said he could not forget the pain of the death of his son, who died of a heart ailment when he was struggling to establish himself in Mumbai.
He said he would visit Patna regularly now and was proud to be born in Bihar and of his Bihari roots. "It is an emotional matter - a matter of the heart," he said.
His father resides in a middle class neighbourhood in Patna.
Suman is known for his caricature on Bihar politicians, particularly Railway Minister Lalu Prasad.
While Jha has been allotted land to build multiplexes in Patna, Madhubani and some other places, Shatrughan Sinha has not been granted land for his proposed film city on the outskirts of Patna. Sinha shot off a letter to the state government Tuesday accusing them of "indifference".
Jha's proposed multiplexes are meanwhile embroiled in an opposition tirade that the land was given away at highly cheap rates.
