Johnny Depp floored critics when he not only looked but sounded like a completely different person in the critically acclaimed Black Mass.

Inspired by his prep for the film, Vivek Oberoi here on home turf is going the same way and will be enrolling in a voice modeling and modulation course as homework for his upcoming gangster drama, RAI. In Rai , the actor who essays the titular role of Muthappa Rai is not only undergoing a supervised physical transformation but is also soon going to train in voice modulation to sound every bit like the gangster turned businessman.

Says a source, " This is a genre and space that audiences love seeing Vivek in and he is going all out to get under the skin of his character. From adopting an all new-challenging fitness regime and disciplined diet, he is also training in voice modulation and accents since Rai is known for his infamous intimidating south-Indian accent".​

I do not encourage losing and gaining weight but i am doing it because the character demands it. But I always advice people to be healthy and fit." ​
