Superstar Akshay Kumar who always excels in his roles has now signed a new film with producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's production house Excel Entertainment. The title of the movie will be 'Gold'. It will be directed by Reema Kagti.

'Gold' will be a sports drama film, which will tell the story about India's first medal win in Olympics as a free nation.

On Friday, Akshay shared this news on his social media account, he tweeted: "Set in 1948, the historic story of India's first Olympic medal as a free nation, #GOLD coming to you on 15th August, 2018!"
