ANUJ SACHDEVA: Instead of buying gold on Dhanteras, I would buy some stationary for the children who need it and give it to them. Even gestures can be golden, right? I will be more then happy to see them smiling.

DEVOLEENA BHATTACHARJEE: I make it a way to make feel my mother special on each occasion. I feel my hapiness and celebrations are incomplete without her. So even for dhanteras I take her to market and get her something of her choice. But with that I also make it a way to bring something for my god. I also gift the poor kids so that even they can enjoy the festival like us.

KARANVIR SHARMA: I know the first thing people think of when it comes to Dhanteras-Gold. My take is rather different, I will buy a pair of warm clothes from a percentage of my income I have earned along with all the old stuff I can collect from family and friends. I also support an NGO, Aprogreentech, which helps in sanitation and recycling. It's high time we clean up our act. I'm doing my bit and enjoying the simple pleasures of life by sharing joy and happiness.

MAHIKA SHARMA: Every dhanteras I get gifts from my parents. So I dont feel necessary to buy someting for me. As a ritual I am yet not the guardian of the family. So my Mom brings something for the puja. So from my earning I celebrate dhanteras with my Durgabadi (NGO) girls. Taking them to market and purchaching stuffs for them and making it a happy Diwali in real sense.

RAHUL BHAT: When I see so much violence particularly in my native land kashmir, I wish I could buy peace for my people but unfortunately it's not possible, having said that I am an optimist so I believe that eventually peace will prevail. I will pray tomorrow and if one must buy something on dhanteras then I shall buy something for a poor kids, may be just a temporary smile, will definitely give me peace and good luck!

ROOP DURGAPAL: I had booked an SUV which will get delivered on Dhanteras only. So I will buy accessories for my new ride. But will also make a way to celebrate the festival with the innocents. I distribute clothes and other things to poor people every few months. I would do that on dhanteras also.

TAHER SHABBIR: I will try and buy gold for my mother because there is nothing more important in this world than to celebrate any occasion with your mother. But at same time I will make it a way to help the poor kids around the signals and make the festival special for them too.

SHAMIN MANNAN: I generally dont plan for such days. It goes according to my wish. Whatever I get attracted to I get it for me. But I make it a way to buy some good clothes to the children working at signals.
