Controversy stalked superstar Kamal Hassan everytime he embarked on a new venture. The latest confronting him is the charge of plagiarism of the story line of his new film "Dasavatharam", in which he is playing as many as ten roles.

However, when contacted, Kamal Hassan said he was least worried about the charge. "I have better things to do. I don't want to speak on it", the actor retorted.

In the latest controversy a person approached the police and lodged a complaint that the script of Kamal Hassan's "Dasavatharam" ("Ten incarnations"., is based on a story written by him and he submitted it to the actor some time ago.

The 'claimer', who has warned of legal action against the actor, also claimed that Kamal accepted to consider the story for a possible film and make him the assistant director, if the project fructifies. But, he never heard anything from the actor.

However, jumping to Kamal's defence, a Tamil film industry source said, "Such wild charges need to be ignored. Some person or the other has been doing it with an intention of drawing financial gains out of it."

Kamal's present pedicament is reminiscent of a similar charge which a film of thespian late Sivaji Ganesan "Divamagan" ("Divine Child". faced in 1969. The film, which also entered for Oscars in the foreign film category, survived a legal battle and turned out to be a box office hit. Sivaji Ganesan's portrayal of father and two sons won great acclaim for the actor.

Kamal had first faced trouble over the title of his own directorial venture "Virumandi", again over the title "Vasool Raja MBBS", the remake of "Munnabhai MBBS," and two years ago, a leading political party objected to the English title "MumbaiXpress."
