Q: How Indian would you consider Bride?
A: It's as Indian and British as me, a balanced combination that has forged a new Indian as well as a British identity for millions of like- minded NRIs around the world.
Q: Will you attend the screening in Pakistan at all?
A: I would love to attend, after all my ancestors hail from Dariyala Jahlib, 30 kms from Jhelum and Rawalpindi. Also I love the way people speak Punjabi in Pakistan.
It is just like my grandmother and mum...a kind of pindi-esque London version of Punjabi, quite different from the one spoken in India.
Q: Aishwarya is very popular in Pakistan. Would you like her to attend?
A: Of course she should attend. Both countries are inextricably linked and the more cultural and political connections, the better.
Q: Ash tells me Bride... is still a knocker in Australia. Were you happy with its reach?
A: For a hindi-style movie, bride kicked ass. It has made something like 60 million dollars globally and still counting...
