At the Toronto International Film Festival 2016, Lion opened up to rave reviews and even went onto winning the First Runner Up for the People's Choice Award. Lion is an Australian-American-British production directed by debutant Garth Davis and is based of the real life non-fictional book - A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley.

Boasting of a magnificent lead cast including the likes of Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman, Sunny Pawar and Rooney Mara, the film also has a stellar Indian ensemble with names like Priyanka Bose, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tanishtha Chatterjee and Deepti Naval playing pivotal roles.

Lion is a real life story of a young 5 year old boy who by an unfortunate accident finds himself lost away from home on the streets of Calcutta and struggles his way through until an Australian couple adopts him. Now in a land far away in Tasmania in Australia, Saroo begins to find the need to find his real home and sets on a journey with the help of Google earth to trace back his home. The film was recently premiered in New York amidst the presence of a magnificent audience including Bill Clinton.

Popular artist SIA has sung an original song for the movie titled Never Give Up.
