While her legal team is preparing a backgrounder to sue journalist Upala K Basu Roy for defamation, actress Sherlyn Chopra has decided to approach the National Commission for Women (NCW) in New Delhi to seek further support.

"I feel victimized. This particular journalist has been deliberately bad-mouthing me in a series of articles through her newspaper. I sent a legal notice to her. But defiantly she used her paper as a platform to mock at the notice." says the hassled actress.

"Media people are the torchbearers of a nation, but what should one do when the same people get vindictive and attack new and upcoming actresses like me out of prejudice? Does this befit the profession of journalism?" Sherlyn asks.

Before filing the case, Sherlyn will submit a Memorandum to the NCW also asking them to help more actresses safeguard their dignity.

In her notice to Roy, Sherlyn has also questioned the authenticity of statements on her career moves and has claimed that the said journalist was writing out of "grudge, malice and vilification for her, in calculated retaliation" for her refusal to part with information about her personal life.
