Three weeks before the Akshay Kumar-starrer Jolly LLB 2 is slated to be released, a petition has been filed at the Bombay High Court seeking deletion of the word, LLB, from the name.

On January 19, advocate Ajaykumar S. Waghmare moved the court stating that the word, LLB, and several scenes shown in the trailer of the film is a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of the Indian legal profession.

The petition said the characters in the movie are playing cards and dancing on the premises of the court of law, which clearly shows that the film has disrespect for judicial discipline, proceedings and ethics. Mr. Waghmare also urged the court to stop playing of the trailer on social media and television channels.

The petition is likely to come up for hearing before a Division Bench of Justice V.M. Kanade and Justice Sangitrao Patil on January 24.
